Van Palmer is the owner of the Rock Jocky bar. A popular place for Military and Merchant spacers to relax and enjoy a drink or two. Just make sure no one starts any trouble or tries to make shady deals. He is not above tossing the participants out with prejudice. Speaking of prejudice, while alien visitors are rare, they will find Van... cold toward them. Is it just a lack of exposure, or something else? No one knows. There isn't much to do in town during the long months of winter, except for the Gladiator Games. Spritzy has been built for this role, as the lean and wiry Kobold of Madame Rose's Pleasure House. They've been known to rock the world of many a weary customer who simply wanted to be tossed around. Now they get to do so and keep their clothes on. And while Candice is a competent toymaker, she has an idea to bring cheer in a different way. There is a new carol that Candice is writing, but her job in the workshop is taking all of her energy away from her creative pursuits. Since Mr. and Mrs. Claus seem to be the only ones concerned with the work/ life balance of the halflings and elves in their employ, Candice doesn't much care for anyone who is under 5 feet tall, figuring that the height gives them a better perspective than her co-workers.
